Chamber member AFC Fylde Community Foundation is to play a major part in the ongoing battle against coronavirus by helping working families continue to work without the worry of childcare.
The charity will be providing a free sports camp in the wake of school closures enabling the vital employees to continue working.
The camp will take place at the state-of-the art Sports and Education Centre at the home of AFC Fylde and will operate from 8am – 5pm Monday-Friday.
Launching from the first day of school closure and remaining open until Friday April 3rd – the normal start of the school half-term.
Foundation Director Tom Hutton said he recognises the importance of enabling crucial staff to continue working without the burden of worrying about child-care.
He said: “We are all experiencing very uncertain times and it’s vitally important for us all to come together to get through this.
“If we can do our part, however small, in helping our local community then we will do so.
“That’s why we are offering working families within our community free childcare during the school closures to ease the additional pressures they are facing. All children will be catered for in line with within Public Health England Guidelines issued.”
“On record, I’d like to thank our key delivery partners Kepak, BAE Systems, Cuadrilla and FWP Group. Their support throughout the year, allows us to be able to run initiatives like this when times are trickier. For that’d I’d like to thank them.”
If you would like to book your child or children a place on the camp, please or email dan.cookson@afcfylde.co.uk. Places on the course are extremely limited and must be pre booked via email.
