Companies have the chance to show why they are the best of British at a business event next month.
Best of Britannia (BoB) North returns to the former Post Office building and Market Square in Preston from March 11-13 after a hugely successful debut event last year.
It was a showcase of the finest regional and national British-made brands from cars to ovens, bikes to brogues and beer to artisan breads.
A wide selection of regional companies and firms are taking part and, in addition, the Chamber has teamed up with event organisers to offer a 20 per cent discount to any business who wants to take part.
It’s planned that this year’s event, starting with a trade and media day on March 11, will showcase the best in contemporary British design and manufacturing, featuring a host of high quality brands from throughout the region.
The BoB team is also proposing to support those brands whose business and manufacturing has been adversely affected by the recent floods by offering free exhibition space to boost their profile and help with sales opportunities.
Non-executive director, the renowned designer Wayne Hemingway MBE, said of: BoB: “I have been a fan of Best of Britannia since its inaugural event in 2012. BoB is hitting the zeitgeist with British manufacturing seeing a resurgence.
“We are at a time when retailers need security of supply. The realisation of quality are becoming key issues in manufacturing and a growing number of consumers here understand the boost to the UK economy to jobs and to the sustainability and ethical sourcing that ‘Made in the UK’ brings.
“As a born and bred Lancastrian, who manufactures much of my company’s designs in the county, I am delighted that BoB North is coming back to Preston where the impact of the event in a region with such a proud manufacturing and creative heritage is bound to be huge.”
As well as the Chamber and Preston BID, BOB North is supported by Creative Lancashire, Marketing Lancashire, Preston City Council and the University of Central Lancashire.
