Manufacturing and engineering companies across Lancashire are being offered the opportunity to benefit from free interactive masterclasses to improve workforce skills.
Blackpool and The Fylde College is providing a series of interactive online masterclasses for small to medium sized businesses as part of a project called EnginE.
Classes are currently available on topics including social media and marketing with more in the pipeline focused on lean manufacturing, project management, quality management, root cause analysis and risk assessment.
Funded by the European Social Fund, EnginE project brings together expertise from Blackpool and The Fylde College, Lancaster University Management School, Blackburn College and Northern Automotive Alliance.
Laura May, Business Engagement Executive at Blackpool and The Fylde College, said companies can access the masterclasses as many times as they like.
“We are delighted to be able to offer these free masterclasses to SMEs across Lancashire operating in the advanced engineering and manufacturing sectors.
“The manufacturing sector can include anything from kitchens to industrial chimneys, food or re-manufacturing while advanced engineering can include companies working in the nuclear sector, packaging or consultancy.
“Hopefully it will give companies a taste of the wide range of opportunities to upskill their workforce, deliver innovation and grow and retain staff.”
The masterclasses are currently delivered online and last about three hours each.
