The UK left the EU on the 31 January 2020. From 1 January 2021, the way you trade with the EU will change, and you will need to be ready to comply with new customs arrangements. For example, you will need to make customs declarations to export goods once the UK is outside of the EU’s customs territory.
New rules will take effect on 1 January 2021.
North & Western Lancashire Chamber is holding a series of workshops that will help you prepare for the upcoming changes and offer an insight to the help we can provide at the Chamber. The workshops are open to businesses of all sizes, across every sector and industry, and are completely free of charge.
This workshop will cover:
· Customs declarations (export and import)
· Customs Duties
· U.K. Global tariff
· VAT (imports)
· Safety and Security declarations
· Actions to take
HMRC have stated that this is now a requirement for all importers and exporters applying for any Customs approvals and facilities to undertake a Customs compliance audit. The Chamber is there to help you through these procedures (this service will be chargeable). HMRC’s phraseology is “Regular Management Checks and Audits”.
After the presentation we will have a Q&A session. Please submit any questions you may have for our speakers in advance to export@lancschamber.co.uk
