12-14 October 2022
Fully funded trade visit to Portugal for companies working in the textile field, arranged by our partners at the British Portuguese Chamber of commerce.
Experience has shown that UK buyers now have an increased preference for sourcing closer to home and from suppliers compliant with todays’ verifiable ESG standards.
The Portuguese textile sector has been at the forefront of adopting new technologies and now prides itself on its competitiveness and unparalleled quality. Boasting over 5000 companies active in various sub-sectors including hotel textiles, home textiles, soft-furnishings, décor, and design – Portugal now has the enviable reputation of being world leader for high quality technical textiles, with specific focus on performance fabrics and those made from recycled materials.
The competitiveness of British retailers and consumers depends on their ability to “buy smart” and the British-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce see it as one of their key functions to broker introductions between buyers and qualified producers.
In this capacity they are planning an inward trade mission for selected British buyers to meet with Portuguese producers between 12-14 October 2022. This is part of an EU-funded project and thus we are able to cover the travel expenses for the selected buyers.
We therefore seek your collaboration to help identify potential participants from amongst your membership and so would appreciate you disseminating this opportunity to your network.
Full details of the mission can be obtained from Charlie Oliveira on c.oliveira@bpcc.pt – though there is some urgency to this matter as they need to have all confirmations finalised before the end of August
