An ATA Carnet is an international customs documents which allows the temporary importation of goods without having to pay duty and/or VAT and complete customs clearance. They can be used for one of three reasons and to a country part of the ATA scheme including the European Union.
Goods can travel on an ATA Carnet if they are commercial samples, professional equipment or goods going to either a trade fair or an exhibition depending on the country it’s going to. Everything going on a Carnet must always comes back to the UK in the same state.
