The Migration Advisory Committee has launched a Call for Evidence for a major review of the SOL. Roles currently on the SOL will not be included unless evidence is received – except Care and Senior Care Workers for which no further evidence is sought -the Deadline for submissions is 26 May – alternatively please pass your comments through to the Chamber.

The SOL lists the skilled occupations the MAC has assessed to be in shortage’ in the UK – and where it is sensible to address the shortage through the recruitment of overseas workers.
The new SOL can include all occupations and skill levels above and below RQF level 3. However, employers will need to provide robust evidence as to why job below RQF level 3 should be included.

• Supplementary work allowed
