Commercial law firm Brabners has bolstered its private client practice in Preston with the appointment of consultant Pamela Wilson.
With more than 25 years’ industry experience, including seven years spent as a legal and technical consultant at wealth manager Brown Shipley, Pamela is one of Lancashire’s most esteemed private client practitioners. She has been recruited from HCC Solicitors, where she held the role of partner.
The firm says its latest appointment helps to meet the demand for private client advice in the region, particularly from clients in areas such as Southport and the Fylde Coast. Pamela specialises in wills, trusts, probate and estate planning, and handles both contentious and non-contentious matters. She also practices family law and works on a number of cases that involve more complex or unusual financial issues.
Commenting on her new role, Pamela said: “As a nation we are all living longer, and this is naturally leading to an increase in the number of private client matters we as lawyers are dealing with. Those matters range from clients coming to us for support to structure or contest a will, to understand how to organise an estate to minimise the impact of care home fees, or understanding how best to prepare for the changes to inheritance tax that are coming in next year.
“With the support of the North West team I’m looking forward to further building our private client offering in Lancashire. Joining a full-service commercial law firm will bring many advantages for my clients, due to the ability to tap into specialists in employment, commercial and conveyancing law. That will certainly form part of our foundations for future growth.”
With a 24-strong team, Brabners has one of the largest private client teams in the North West.
