A farming family from Lancashire, who diversified into the Spirits industry last year, have been awarded best in class for one of their products.
Brindle Distillery in Chorley produces three Gins under the title Cuckoo Gin. Their Signature and Spiced Gin were both shortlisted for ‘Best Traditional Gin’ and ‘Best London Dry Gin’ respectively However it was their newest product, Cuckoo Sunshine Gin, which came out on top in the ‘Best Flavoured Gin’ category.
Cuckoo Sunshine is named after the unmistakably endearing Lancashire term “Hello, Sunshine”, used to greet friends and loved ones. Working alongside the Bee Centre in Samlesbury, Lancashire, Cuckoo Sunshine Gin is made with natural honey produced on their farm by Lancashire Honeybees. Honey, as a substitute to sugar, helps to create a smooth and sweet gin and with a burst of fruit flavour from the raspberries that have been infused, all help to provide an instant taste of sunshine!
The Gin Guide launched in 2015 as an independent organisation with the aim of allowing consumers to discover new gins, distilleries and ways to enjoy gin. This enables gin producers from across the world to work on getting their gin in more people’s glasses, tell their stories and sell more bottles – all in support of the gin industry.
