Barely 3 months in to their new financial year, SME DanTech UK Ltd based in Burscough have won exports contracts in Finland and USA for their meat processing equipment totalling over £700,000.
It’s all down to an export drive that started with the Department for International Trade (formerly UKTI) and the Passport to Export and global growth programmes which took place several years ago.
Currently export enquiries are coming from Argentina, China and Russia, but DanTech accepts that some of these markets need developing through the internet, personal contact and visiting these countries.
Managing Director, Colin Turner said: “I am amazed by the reach of our business via the web; we have received enquiries and sales from right across the globe, many from ex-pats within the food industry who now reside in countries such as Australia and USA”
Vera Grantham, International Trade Manager at the NWL Chamber of Commerce, of which DanTech are active members, said: “Lancashire has a strong contingent of exporters who are securing and growing their business through investigating overseas markets.
“We’re incredibly pleased that Colin and all at DanTech are experiencing a period of growth, most specifically thorough engaging with export support programmes available to local businesses via the Department for International Trade and the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce”.
