This past week has been busy for everyone working through this pandemic, figuring out how to deal with the present-day challenges as well planning ahead for the ‘phased’ restart.
‘Build Back Better’ has become the phrase used to talk about our economic recovery and the attempts to restart the economy over the coming year and beyond. Build Back Better’ will need more than a slogan
It’s critical that ‘Build Back Better’ fully includes genuine discussion and dialogue with businesses and is grounded in both realism and practicality. So many of our members – and those of other businesses we have been working with – are reporting a near endless list of challenges around cashflow, people management, investment, insurance and health.
We’re pleased to have supported several businesses over the past weeks with solutions to issues, collection and articulation of business need and – at times – an unofficial counselling service.
Now we intend to increase this. We need your input to help inform the day to day work and the restart plans for the economy.
We want a demand-led approach to economy recovery and that is why on Monday we will be launching a survey to capture the needs of businesses in order for the Chamber to evaluate how we can best support our member businesses and deliver a positive contribution to businesses during this most difficult period.
This information will also form part of our submissions to the government in our ask for the next wave of support required for our business community.
