The hottest ticket in town has officially sold out!
All 5,000 tickets for this month’s ‘Purple Party’ at Preston’s historic Flag Market have been requested, two-and-a-half weeks before international DJs MistaJam and Craig Charles take to the stage.
However, given the level of demand for the gig on 30th January, organised by Preston Business Improvement District (BID), a waiting list has now been drawn up.
Should you wish to be added to it, please email PurpleParty@lancschamber.co.uk with the following details:
- Your Full Name
- Full Postal Address
- Telephone Number
- Date of Birth
“Should tickets become available, you will be offered them on the night of the gig,” said BID manager, Mark Whittle.
“If you are local to Preston, come and enjoy our city’s nightlife and keep your fingers crossed that we can get you in to the event arena.
“Please note we cannot guarantee tickets will become available, but should they, you’ll be the first to know!
“If you have applied for tickets and will not be using your full allocation – for example, you have applied for four tickets and will only be using two – please advise us via the above email address without delay, so we can offer your spare tickets to someone else.
“We were always confident this would prove to be a popular night but, even so, we have been taken aback by the level of interest shown – not only from local people but from those travelling to Preston from other parts of the country.”
The free outdoor concert takes the form of a two-hour live set with a full production and lighting show.
MistaJam is an international name, presenting weekly on BBC Radio One and performing at the UK’s biggest festivals.
He also holds weekly residencies at some of the world’s best super clubs such as Ibiza Rocks and Mallorca’s BCM.
BBC Radio Two’s Craig Charles is best known for his work as Lister in Red Dwarf, his spell as presenter of Robot Wars and a decade on Coronation Street.
He will perform a hugely popular live funk and soul set to the assembled crowd, who can also enjoy a warm-up set courtesy of one of Preston’s favourite DJs, Nick Carter.
The gig is the latest annual event organised by the BID team to celebrate the city’s ‘Purple Flag’ accreditation, a standard which is given to destinations that have a safe, vibrant and inclusive night time economy.
