Away from the debate over potholes and infrastructure of the transport system in Lancashire, the Chamber has been vocal in helping businesses with a loads issue.
We have been approached by several members who have been having issues transporting abnormal loads on A-roads and motorways with the police asking to escort them, rather than using private escorts.
The Chamber is now in communication with a working group consisting of members, road organisations and the wider network in a bid to come to some sort of solution to the issue.
Policy manager Nick Hyde was also part of a transport roundtable discussion with secretary of state for transport, Mark Harper MP, where the issue was raised. Several Lancashire MPs have also written to the Chamber adding their support.
