*PLEASE NOTE: This Event is Now Fully Booked*
This GDPR Event is fully booked and is no longer accepting bookings. Please consider our HR Forum: GDPR for HR which will be held 20th April.
The European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a reality for all Lancashire organisations across all sectors and sizes and Brexit won’t stop it. Rules on collecting and using information on customers and staff will get tighter especially around marketing. If these rules are overlooked, organisations run the risk of significant fines of up to €20m or 4% of group global turnover.
The introduction of this legislation will require readiness on the part of Business owners, Directors, and Managers along with staff awareness at all levels to handle personal data properly.
To help our members and the entire Lancashire business community, the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Harrison Drury Solicitors and the Bartle Hall Hotel will put together a well-rounded informative conference to prepare delegates in the area of IT, Digital Marketing, and the Legal readiness to ensure that the additional data protection regulations will not take us by surprise.
We will have Dr Alan Gillies present to us first from the IT perspective, how we will need to handle our internal information systems. He will probably give a bit of a short overview at that point.
Bespoke Digital will talk to us about the impact of GDPR on Digital Marketing, how things will need to change and strategies to adjust to that change.
Lucy Blezard from Harrison Drury will discuss their experience with companies so far with GDPR, what companies are getting wrong, what they’re misunderstanding and some good steps for them to take. (excellent topic as there a lot of “myths” floating around out there)
Given the complexity of the new regulation, this 3 hour session will provide an overview of the data protection approaches mentioned along with time to answer questions from attendees.
