Join us for an exciting in person event at the Health Innovation Campus, Lancaster University where we will be discussing ways for Primary Care to achieve Net Zero emissions. This in-person event will provide valuable insights and strategies to support Primary Care to ensure CQC compliance and save money.
Introduction by L&SC ICB Green Plan Clinical lead and Net Zero Project Manager describing the health impacts of climate change, our shared responsibility to reduce the carbon footprint of the NHS and how the ICB is supporting primary care on its journey to Net Zero.
Guest Speakers:
Tim Ballard, National Professional Advisor – Primary Medical Services & Integrated Care will discuss the Regulatory Role of CQC in relation to Environmental Sustainability and what practices need to do to ensure compliance.
Dr Sarah Hopkins, L&SC ICB Green Plan Clinical Lead and Allison Sathiyanathan,
ICB Net Zero Project Manager will dive the Importance of Environmental Sustainability in Primary Care.
Stephen Sykes, Director of Sustainability at East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce will provide an introduction to the services provided by Chamber Low Carbon that aims to help Primary Care improve energy and environmental efficiencies, introduce on site renewable energy generation and save money.
Rachel Wilson, ICB Lead Pharmacist will discuss the topic of Sustainable Medicines.
· How medicines, particularly inhalers are a big part of the NHS Carbon footprint.
· What actions need to be taken by GP Practices, what resources are available and how to access them.
· How the ICB Medicines team can support practices.
