Last Chance – Survey closes Monday 8th March
The Quarterly Economic Survey is your chance to influence policy decisions made at the highest levels. With recent Covid restrictions and the impact of the new trading arrangements with the EU, it is essential policy-makers hear from businesses. This time we’ve also got some special questions focusing on the past year and how businesses have coped.
The QES, which should take less than 5 minutes to complete, provides information on how businesses are performing this quarter. The NWL Chamber gathers information for Lancashire businesses to give a clear picture of condition in the county. This then feeds in to the British Chamber of Commerce to produce forecasts on the health of the UK economy.
The survey is a leading indicator – often picking up big changes in the economy long before other surveys or official statistics. The Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee uses the QES as one of its key benchmarks when setting interest rates. HM Treasury and the independent Office for Budget Responsibility use the QES to put together their forecasts for the UK’s economic performance.
It is open to businesses of all sizes and measures trends on sales, exports, workforce levels, investment and business confidence. Any information you provide is confidential.
Please take a few minutes to share your insight. Your feedback is important.
