Lancashire law firm Harrison Drury has grown its construction law team with the appointment of partner David Vayro.
David, who joins Harrison Drury from Primas Law, will head up the firm’s construction law team in Manchester, advising construction and development clients operating across the region.
Working with the firm’s head of construction Katherine Sibley and the wider North West team, David will advise clients on both transactional matters and in relation to conflict management and dispute resolution.
David holds a wide range of sector experience and acts for football clubs, hotel developers, residential and commercial developers, building contractors, property funders, professional consultants, and other specialist subcontractors.
Kath Sibley, head of construction at Harrison Drury, said: “David is a true specialist who has honed his expertise over many years advising some of the most well-known contractors and developers in the country.
“We’re thrilled to have someone with his experience and know-how leading our construction team in Manchester. This is a great opportunity to expand our construction offering in terms of a city presence and wider experience.”
David added: “Harrison Drury is the first firm I’ve known where the purpose statement starts with the people and their aspirations and needs. It was clear from my earliest conversations with the team that those values are lived out in the day-to-day operation of the firm.
“I’m looking forward enormously to helping Harrison Drury grow its construction team in Manchester, supporting clients in the Manchester market and nationally.”
David’s other previous experience includes partner and head and construction roles at law firms including Gately, Trowers and Hamlins, and DWF.
He has gained particular expertise in development work, putting together construction document packages and advising on the construction aspects of development agreements. This includes agreements for lease, forward funding agreements and all other documentation including or impacted by provisions covering construction activity.
Harrison Drury’s construction law team sits within its wider property and construction division, which also encompasses commercial property law and property litigation. The property and construction division has 37 solicitors, including 10 partners.
