Trinity Hospice & Palliative Care Services is looking for three people to join their board of trustees to help steer the charity through a period of change.
The largest local charity on the Fylde Coast, it provides specialist, end-of-life care for adults and children who have life threatening or limiting illnesses in Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre.
With a new strategy and business plan, the charity is responding to radical health sector reforms, growing competition and significantly increasing numbers on the Fylde Coast living and dying with complex end-of-life needs.
As a result, the board is looking for applications from would-be trustees with one or more of the following: finance skills; experience in medical matters; and HR skills.
However, anyone who feels they have a skill which is useful to the board can still express an interest.
“Over the past 30 years, we have derived our success by focusing on what really matters – our patients,” the charity said.
“In being responsive to our patients’ needs, we have ensured high quality and compassionate care for them and their families. This responsiveness and engagement is central to our continued success.
“You too will want to get involved in our work and be an advocate for Trinity and our vision that: ‘by 2020, everyone on the Fylde Coast has access to good end of life care and a good death.’ This is a voluntary position but the rewards are great.”
Ideally, applicants will be resident or work / have worked on the Fylde Coast.
The board meets six times each year, while trustees are also required to commit to joining one or more of the sub-committees covering topics such as investment, trading, audit and governance.
Anyone interested in applying for one of the trustee positions should contact Denise Sage on 01253 359361 by Sunday, 31st January.
