We need to understand your skills challenges, so as a pilot area, we can implement a new skills system fit for the future of your business
North & Western Lancashire Chamber is delighted to have been chosen by the Department for Education as one of eight Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIPs) trailblazer chambers across the country.
We will be working in partnership with the East Lancashire Chamber and over the next few months, we will work with employers and employer representative groups, to identify the local needs and solutions to address them in our key sectors:
There is universal agreement that only through a collaborative and joined up approach we will generate a plan that truly recognises the skills needs, and more importantly, some of the solutions that colleges, universities and providers will need to implement to address these.
On Monday over 15000 Lancashire based businesses will be invited to participate in an Employer Skills Survey and this is only the start of the process. The survey will be followed up by sector specific ‘deep dive surveys’ together with a range of focus groups and one to one sessions. This is your opportunity to create the change that businesses deserve. Please get involved – and in the first instance please complete the initial survey which will be landing in your inbox on Monday.
