You might remember in the run-up to the general election, the then Shadow Labour deputy PM Angela Rayner set out a list of priorities in the 100 days following their expected win.
These included living wage rises, the “fire and re-hire” policy, zero-hour contracts, flexible working proposals and trade union activity for employees.
The Chamber conducted a survey to gauge members’ perspectives on the government’s intentions, as outlined in the Deputy PM’s “100 Days of Government” speech.
There were mixed reactions among members regarding the new government’s position. While some expressed support, others raised concerns, particularly about the need for careful consideration before implementing certain measures, as reflected in results and comments received.
We have now shared the reactions with the British Chambers of Commerce who are working with the government on this issue and have written to our local MPs on this matter.
