As 2020 draws to a close Smith & Love Planning Consultants are delighted to end the year on a high, by launching their new website. The website aims to showcase and promote the work of the Winckley Square based town planning consultants.
Partnership working and local collaboration are a key feature of Smith and Love’s continued success. During 2020 they have worked in collaboration with a number of locally based businesses by providing town planning services across the retail, leisure, residential, health and education sectors.
Smith & Love have long been advocates of local collectives and try to work with locally based companies, wherever possible. Many of their recent planning successes have been the result of some exciting local partnerships, some of which are recognised here:
Chorley based architects Gilling Dodd, designed the fantastic Energy Centre at Royal Lancaster Infirmary which we recently secured planning for, Smith & Love worked with David Cox Architects, Preston, to obtain planning permission for 70,000 sq. ft floor space industrial units on a long-standing vacant site in Fleetwood.
They have also worked with Lancashire family business, James Hall & Co. to secure planning permission for Spar forecourt sites in Nelson and Bacup. Whilst over in the Ribble Valley, they undertook a project with Stirk House Hotel to obtain planning permission and listed building consent for the development of additional wedding ceremony and reception facilities.
Further afield, they successfully won a planning appeal for Oakmere Homes for 39 dwellings in Clitheroe.
Whilst each project has had its own unique challenges Smith & Love’s local knowledge and vested interest in improving the local area and is helping to bring forward much-needed developments.
Deborah Smith of Smith & Love said ‘Collaboration is pivotal to the way we work and we’ve taken time to get to know local companies in recent years and we will continue to expand our network to support local business.’ In 2019 Deborah launched Ladies in Property Lancashire as a way to introduce local contacts to each other to help others expand their networks.
And as we enter the last few weeks of the year, the company is urging all local partners to protect Lancashire businesses and economies by continuing to shop and commission locally.
