The UK has reaffirmed its commitment to global research collaboration by securing full association with Horizon Europe, the EU’s flagship research and innovation programme worth over £80 billion.
This means UK researchers and businesses can confidently participate in cutting-edge projects with international partners, strengthening the country’s position as a leader in science and innovation.
This comes as part of the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT)’s recently announced £13.9 billion R&D budget for 2025/2026, which aims to drive long-term economic growth.
There is a total of £20.4 billion available in government R&D investment.
