This week, further individuals and entities have been added to the sanctions list. On evening of Thursday 14 April, new sanctions legislation came into force introducing the UK ban on iron and steel product imports from Russia and Belarus, and on exports of oil refining goods, quantum computing, advanced materials technology and luxury goods.
The rules prohibiting goods imports from Crimea to the UK have now also been extended to goods from other Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine, including Donbas. The World Trade Organisation downgraded its forecasts for global trade volume growth this year and next as a result of the war in Ukraine and lockdowns in China.
